Troop 104 recently went backpacking in the Angeles National Forest. We hiked to Cooper Canyon and had the whole camp to ourselves! The nearby creek was flowing, so we had plenty of fresh water to drink.
For lunch, we ate tuna pasta. Afterward, we hiked three miles to a beautiful waterfall. The water was icy and clear, so we soaked our tired feet to cool off.
Dinner was the best part. We actually cooked steak and mashed potatoes! It shows that with good planning, you can eat like royalty in the woods.
On the trail, we met hikers on the Pacific Crest Trail. We even met a 12-year-old girl hiking the whole way with her dad! Hearing their stories and learning their “trail names” was amazing. It was a trip we will never forget.
