Memorial Day

Scouts from Troop 104 participated in the Memorial Day Service held at Pioneer Memorial Cemetery as volunteers.

Memorial Day is a national holiday observed in the United States to pay tribute to and remember the men and women who have died while serving in the country’s armed forces. It is a day of remembrance and reflection on the sacrifices made by military personnel to protect the freedoms and values of the nation. Memorial Day is typically observed on the last Monday of May and is marked by various ceremonies, parades, and the decoration of graves with flags and flowers. Additionally, it often serves as the unofficial start of the summer season in the United States.

Troop 104 Scouts assisted with set up, directing traffic, and clean up.

Scouts set up 200 chairs for the attendees.

Scout Max demonstrates his “Top Gun” sign that he will use to direct traffic.

California State Senator Caroline Menjivar, who was present, acknowledged the Scouts for their valuable contributions to the community.
